the role
Keeping the laboratory running smoothly:
• Ordering equipment
• Routine safety checks
• Maintenance of test rigs and equipment
• Some building of test equipment
• Solving technical problems
• Keeping a ‘store’ of critical supplies
Rapid prototyping
• Outline design work
• Talking to engineering suppliers
• Physically making and testing prototypes
• Customer demonstrations
• Reporting findings (lab book, presentations etc)
Applicant requirements
Skills;
• Hands on experience – highly practical (essential)
• Chemistry laboratory experience
• Development experience in a process industry (pipes, pumps and heat)
• Customer presentable – ability to communicate well, written and verbal
Competencies;
• Team player (small team therefore essential)
• Self organising (routine maintenance plans, making own priorities etc)
• Good attention to detail (safety is a key requirement)
• Analysis (understand key issues and create an engineered solution)
Education;
• HND/C or lower degree
• 2 years or more laboratory experience

• The salary and package will be dependant on the candidate £20-£25k
• 7% contribution to company pension scheme
